what a week of mixed weather. Hope you didn’t get stuck in the snow on Thursday morning like I did? Johnny was pleased…his school closed for the day.
Friday morning turned out just swell though, and we enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine, and up a hill or two. Later our newest members were taken through their paces on the Learn To Nordic Walk course. All did well and are look forward to joining the gang on some of our regular walks.
Saturday was the Gin Festival trip. Hats off to the Social Committee for organising a fun day out with Nordic walkers from three local groups coming together to (Nordic Walking Preston, Nordic Walking with Dawn, and Nordic Walking Wyre). I went for the Black Tomato gin with a salted lemon tonic before dashing off to attend to parenting duties. Our Ellie was 3-months old this week. Grief, time is flying.
The Adventure Walk for April is now live. We shall be revisiting Grasmere for a recce walk of the June Grasmere Gallop route. Ideal for those who are still not yet booked on to the Grasmere Gallop (please note that this is the most popular 10k Nordic walking event of the year, typically with around 150 participants from around the country, and well worth entering). For those who have entered before you already know why this is Adventure Walk is worth attending and we look forward to you joining us. Please visit this link to book your place.
Please also note that the March Adventure Walk to Crosby beach is almost upon us and Walk Leader Angela has recently been down to recce the route. The photographs looked very encouraging. It will be another great day out. Jump on board here.
Our May Adventure Walk will be on 13th May, and
our June Adventure Walk will be on 16th June.
We look forward to seeing you this week on our evening walks….already light at the start of the walk. Give it a few more weeks when the clocks change and the whole of the evening walk will be in the light. Roll on summer !
Excuse me on Friday. I shall be talking at the World Health Innovation Summit in Blackpool. Thankfully Gill will be covering for me and leading you along Lancaster Canal from Haslam Park.
Whilst out at any of our wide range of locations, please keep your eyes peeled for crocus, emerging daffs, and in the not too distant future we shall be arranging a bluebell walk or two.
