Good evening !
Already 21 days into the year. I like 21. It’s my birth date. Another number for you is 44. That’s how old Ellie is today in days. It’s how old I will be in years this year too. Don’t ask me about miles though. I don’t do miles. I do kilometres, having lived in central Europe for 12 years (which is 21 backwards). Suffice to say, I have walked a lot of miles this past 21 days. In rain, wind, sunshine, hail, sleet, and today snow. All of it thoroughly enjoyable. In fact, I literally cannot be anything other than totally happy when out Nordic walking, in any weather. This Nordic walking is really powerful stuff.
This week has been epic, on our regular walks with you guys, but also in Morecambe this week delivering sessions with some truly inspirational people from charities across the breadth of the UK supported by an incredible organisation (The Rank Foundation). I am more than excited, humbled and grateful to get such opportunities to share my experiences of how Nordic walking can influence your health, fitness, posture, mood, pain, awareness, wellbeing, communication, social interaction, and much more.
And then the weekend came ! Boom ! The first Invitation Walk of 2018 with the whole Walk Leader and Social Committee team involved. We even had a new flag to stake in the ground. A fabulous session, even in spite of the rain. We shall definitely be holding one of these sessions again, so should you have any friends, family, or colleagues who you know would like to attend or benefit from actually experiencing all you have gained from Nordic walking, then keep following our Invitation Walks updates. A new date will be released soon.
Let me please remind you once again about the upcoming first Adventure Walk of 2018. This coming Sunday we shall be walking up to Rivington Pike. We already have almost 30 people on board, and whilst we have a large team of Walk Leaders and the Social Committee to guide and support you, we shall be capping the numbers at 45 max. Options for all ages and abilities. The youngest might be our 44 day old. The oldest, hmm, let’s wait and see.
Further details about the day, and information about how to access a WhatsApp group for finer details, and organising car sharing, etc. will be emailed out to those already booked on.
