NWP News 11/08/2019

Good evening,

This week we have said not goodbye but fare-well to Helen Frudd who, since joining Nordic Walking Preston, has changed her health around, quit her job, rented out her home, and is moving off to the Isle of Man to a new job and life. Helen tells us that there is great walking opportunity over in the Isle of Man, and has already encouraged us to come on over for an Adventure walk. The team are already exploring opportunities.

Nordic Walking Accessories

On Tuesday this week Matt shall be placing an order with NWUK for pole paws, poles, and other items from the Store.

If you would like to take advantage of free delivery on your items, then please let Matt know before he places the order on Tuesday.

Whitby Adventure Walk 22nd Sept

We are looking forward to next months Adventure Walk from Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby. Di is finalising the booking of the coach to Whitby.
We have a limited number of seats left and If you have not yet booked I would urge you to do so as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please let Di know if you require a place on the coach if you have not already done so.
We may be able to book tables at “Trenchers”, Whitby’s wonderful fish and chips restaurant, if people would like this. Alternatively you could have a walk around Whitby yourself and find somewhere to eat. Let a committee member know what you fancy doing.

Winckley Square Preston

Please note that a few of you feature on the new Winckley Square web page. Check yourselves out at https://www.winckleysquarepreston.org/walks-and-talks/

Eden Valley Adventure Walk
Walk leaders Sue & Andy are always thorough with their recceing of Adventure walks. Mostly for the stiles, paths, terrain and ensuring a safe accessible walk for all, but I think secretly also to sample the food and drink in a wide variety of cafes and pubs.
They assure us that they have now managed to get the walk down to 2 stiles! Both of which are on the extended walk!!
The extended part of the walk also takes in the Poetry Path. Details about this can be found here.
The day is sure to be epic !

Here are your walks for this week:

Monday 18:45 – Chorley Wanderer – Astley Park

Tuesday 18:45 – Timeout Tuesday – Broughton Business Park, North with Sue & Andy

Wednesday 18:15 – Wednesday Workout – Haslam Park with Matt

Friday  9:30am – Friday Roamer – Moor Park with Angela

Saturday 9:15 am – Rise and Shine – Avenham Park with Andy & Sue

Saturday 11:00 am – The Later One – Avenham Pavilion with Angela
