Good evening folks,
the year is flying by ! Some really great things are happening both with individuals within the group and behind the scenes.
I would like to praise the Social Committee and the Walk Leader team for their continued efforts in strengthening the foundations of our great group. Thank you !
Please note that if you have been absent for a while or are challenged with any aspect of your fitness, health or wellbeing, then reach out and let us know. We are more than happy to lend an ear, or give your arm a twist, or kick you up the proverbial backside, should that be the appropriate course of action.
- Don’t forget to keep yourself hydrated ! Particularly as the hotter weather is approaching.
- Kit yourself out with sunglasses and suncream.

Last week I particularly enjoyed the muddy walk around Healey Nab. It was also fabulous to end Friday’s walk at Cuerden Valley Park’s new cafe. A long time coming, but I am sure we will frequent this place as a group.
This week I look forward to the Nicky Nook walk and of course Sunday’s adventure walk.
Don’t let that fool you into thinking any of the other walks are less important. Every single walk I have done over the past 3 years has been special. Every single time I go out I aim to check and improve on my technique and posture, and become more aware of how I can absorb more sensory stimulation, whether that be the sound of birds, the smell of fresh air, the scent of blossom, running water, the colours of the flowers, a new cake to taste, or the laughter, conversation and insights from all our members.
We were road testing our new walkie talkies on Friday and Saturday. Oh the fun we will have with this new kit.

Please be welcome to also come along on Tuesday evening for a walk and a social drink. Try out the new area. Introduce yourselves to the new folk. Grab a drink. What’s not to love about all that?

We have a great turnout for the Grasmere Adventure walk. There will be about 25 of us. We are also welcoming our “out of action or injured” friends. You can have a wander around Grasmere then take a shorter walk out to the beach where we will be stopping for our picnic lunch. Book here if you still fancy joining us.
