NWP News 18/03/18

Good evening folks,

it’s been a wonderfully challenging, yet inspiring, informative and motivational week for me. I have met some amazing new people and it has encouraged me to share even more of what is possible with your health and wellbeing.

I was grateful to share my journey and experience this week on Thursday at a Food for Thought event run by one of our our walkers, Julie Lightfoot. Julie holds these thought-proviking meet ups every month. Worth a visit. See Julie here for more details.

Friday, I missed what looked like a fabulous walk led by Gill, as I had been invited to give a talk at the World Health Innovation Summit at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. A truly inspiring event in it’s first year. I look forward to seeing how the event blossoms in years to come.

Saturday was cold out, yet still sunny ! The flowers are in bloom. Really do try to keep your eyes peeled as you walk around, standing tall, head held high. Take in the natural beauty and let it enhance your walking experiences.

This week I shall be covering Buckshaw as Sue & Andy are on their hols. Walking ! Wouldn’t you know it.

If you are “lucky” with your Fridays, then please join us this week as we are trialling a new start location and a totally new route. I am sure you will like it.

Sunday we have our third Adventure walk of the year, this time in Crosby. Already approaching 20 walkers, we still have room for a few more, so jump on board quick so we can advise on car sharing, etc.

(Don’t forget the clocks are changing at the weekend – you don’t wanna miss your breakfast before the walk)

Congratulations to Vicki, Gill and Chris for entering and completing what was clearly a tough 10k at Cartmell at the weekend. Great to see you wearing your red tops.

More 10k and longer events coming up soon. Don’t forget to book yourself on the April Adventure Walk at Grasmere, allowing you to scope the route for the June Grasmere Gallop – the biggest Nordic Walking event of the year.

Here are your walks for this week:

Monday 18:45 – Chorley Wanderer – Astley Park

Tuesday 6:30 – Rising Stars – Moor Park Central

Tuesday 18:30 – Buckshaw Roamer – Buckshaw Tesco car park with Matt

Wednesday 18:15 – Evening Workout Walk – Haslam Park

Friday 9:30am – Matt’s Friday Roamer – Waitrose (Winery Lane)

Saturday 9:15 am – Rise and Shine – Avenham Park

Sunday 10:00 am – Another Place Adventure Walk – Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre (L22 1RR)

Have a fantastic week. All the best.
