NWP News 2/09/2018

Howdy doody,

Family Gibbs is back ! Tired, refreshed, sad, and happy. It’s been a fun and emotional, yet awareness enhancing few weeks away.

Today has been an unpacking, washing, cleaning sort of day. Yawn.

The good news though, is that Ellie appears to have taken her first step !

So, I am ready for big change as we approach Quarter 4 and the Autumn/Winter season.

I would like to express my gratitude and thanks for the individual and combined efforts of the NWP team in my absence. In spite of the many challenges we all face the team have been wonderful in keeping opportunities open for you to walk #strongertogether.

Thank you Andy, Sue, Gill, Angela, Chris, Di and Paul.

Thank you also for keeping up reguarly with your walking. A fantastic investment in your future selves.

As I lick my index finger and place my hand in the air, I feel a light, warm breeze which I trust will translate into a dry September for our weekly walking and Adventure walk to Kielder.

However, as is the nature of the British weather, particularly in this period of the year, I would like to kindly remind you of the precautionary need to prepare yourself.

The kit of the prepared Nordic walker tends to include walking shoes, walking boots, waterproof socks, towel and spare clothing in the car, rucksack with drink and snack, waterproof pants and jacket, purple NWP T-shirt, waterproof or winterproof gloves (some specially designed for poles), caps, ear warmers, hats, head torches, chest lights, pole lights, paw bags, and waterproof technology (cases).

Don’t feel pressured to have everything. Get what you feel comfortable with and what fits your budget. Many of the team have items you can see and touch, so don’t hesitate to ask for advice.

So, that leads me in to the question “What can I do for you ?”

How can I help you with your Nordic walking experience? How can I help you with your health, or your fitness, or weight, or happiness?

What can we do as a team to guide and assist you to reach your health and wellbeing goals ?

What can we do as a team to create a series of events, walks, Adventures, Holidays, challenges, or otherwise that will keep you motivated and inspired to expand your comfort zones, and achieve your best health, happiness, fun and excitement in the months to come?

Email me direct at matt@mattgibbs.co.uk and let me know what you like, what you don’t, what you would like more of, what you would like new, or any other way we can be of support to you.

Please note that we have an Invitation walk next Saturday at Longton Brickcroft, and the Saturday morning walk will also take place from that location.
