NWP News 21/07/2019

Good evening,

What a day. The Grassington Adventure walk has been a fab day out. As I sit here listening to the pitter-patter of rain outside my fingers pitter-patter on the keyboard.

Thanks to Chris and Angela for the recce, organising and leading of the walk. The multitude of terrain elements made it a really interesting and enjoyable walk…tarmac, zebra-crossing, cobbles, fields, dirt tracks, grass tracks, stoney paths, concrete paths, stiles, kissing gates, the WD40 gate, roads, hills, woodland, wooden bridges, stone bridges, suspension bridge, stepping stones, nettles, brambles, wild strawberries, waterfalls, birds, cows, sheep, dogs, river, and more.

Thank you Janette for the banana cake. Our resident socialite and biscuit baker Di is currently out of the country so Janette stepped in so that our intrepid walkers could top up their energy levels at break time.

If you would like to get a glimpse of our Adventure today then jump on over to the Grassington Adventure Walk photo album on Facebook. Over 300 fantastic photos from myself Liz, Elaine, Anne, and Mary.

You may have noticed that unfortunately Sue & Andy were also not present today. They were diligently and professionally recceing your next Eden Valley Adventure walk in August, on their only available day to do so. I am sure that will be an Adventure walk to match today’s so if you are available and/or enjoyed today then please feel free to book on via this link. Thank you Sue & Andy for taking one on the chin today.

Whitby Adventure Coach Trip

We now have 22 places secured for the trip Sunday 22nd September. Still with 2 months to go we will soon be twisting arms so that we have a full house.

We will only have one coach, so if you are interested but haven’t yet booked then please jump in now before it’s too late.

Book your place here.

Working with the NHS

I had the pleasure of delivering taster sessions in the beautiful surrounds of Brockholes this week for Lancashire Care NHS Trust.

It has been a goal to do some further work with another part of the NHS since delivering various sessions for the Morecambe Bay Trust.

As we’ve come to anticipate, perceptions were changed, fun was had, and feedback was good. Let’s hope we can do more in the future.

We look forward to seeing you again this week on our weekly walks. It looks like Matt has picked the short straws and Sue and Andy the long ones, but I have my buddy on speed dial, so we’ll see how things turn out in the end.

Here are your walks for this week:

Monday 18:45 – Chorley Wanderer – Buckshaw Tesco car park

Tuesday 18:45 – Timeout Tuesday – Broughton Business Park North with Sue & Andy

Wednesday 18:15 – Wednesday Workout – Haslam Park with Matt

Friday  9:30am – Friday Roamer – Preston Docks with Matt

Saturday 9:15 am – Rise and Shine – Avenham Park with Andy & Sue

Have a fantastic week. All the best.

Matt
