NWP News 30/06/2019

Good evening folks,

It’s been nice to get out in the summer sunshine this week.

What was your favourite moment this week?

We were lucky to be able to have our first bbq of the year in the back garden on Thursday.

On Saturday evening we unashamedly left the kids with Aunty, Uncle and the cousins and went out for a meal with friends. It was exciting. As a couple I don’t think we have gone out on the town like this since before Johnny was born and he is 13 in just over a month. The sheltered life I lead.

As I squeeze out the last minutes of this extremely long week I think back to my birthday. Only a week away it feels like a month gone by.

I have very much enjoyed my first week as a 45-year old. I thank you for being a part of it.

I wish you all the best for the coming week.

May you be healthy, happy, and squeezing the most out of yourselves and your life with balance and dynamism.

Our next Adventure Walk

Our next Adventure is to be in Grassington.

The walk will be approximately 8 miles and circular, including a couple of steady climbing hills with magnificent views, a hidden waterfall, numerous stiles and a beautiful river walk back with a lovely surprise at the end.

There are some challenging sections but nothing that we can’t manage. Book on and enjoy The Dales while stretching your comfort zone.

We plan to have a brew somewhere (hmm Di won’t be there with her cakes!) then have a picnic at an appropriate setting. No meal after this walk but Grassington itself has loads of coffee shops and pubs if people want to stay a bit later and meander after the walk.

Let Angela Clarke know if you want to be in a WhatsApp group re car sharing etc. etc.

The Adventure walk starts at 10am from the National car park at Grassington – cost £4.50 for all day. Toilets 20p.

Grassington National Park Centre, Hebden Road, Grassington, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 5LB (grid reference: SE 003 637)

Our next Learn To Nordic Walk course

This coming weekend Saturday 6th July 10:30am at Avenham Park.

Please see below for links.

Our next COACH trip

Both the Kielder Forest and Llandudno Adventure walks proved to be extremely popular and fun with the organised coach trip.

In September we have a special trip prepared for you. We shall be visiting Whitby and the plan is to walk approx. 6.5 miles from Robin Hood’s Bay up to Whitby along the coastal path. We shall have fish and chips on the east coast before heading back to Preston.

The Yorkshire coast is a source of endless fascination, full of beauty and steeped in history, folklore and legend. This walk, which follows the cliff edge from the smugglers’ haunt of Robin Hood’s Bay to the historic port of Whitby, is a feast of all of them.

It would be of great help to the planning team to get your expressions of interest by you booking on to the walk NOW.  Please use this link to book.

This will allow us to gauge numbers and work out the unit price and viability of securing the coach for the return journey. If we can get numbers up we will aim to keep costs down to approx £20 pp.

Here are your walks for this week:

Monday 18:45 – Chorley Wanderer – Healey Nab with Matt

Tuesday 18:45 – Timeout Tuesday – Broughton Business Park North with Sue & Andy

Wednesday 18:15 – Wednesday Workout – Haslam Park with Matt

Friday  9:30am – Friday Roamer – Friday Roamer, Brockholes with Angela

Saturday 9:15 am – Rise and Shine – Avenham Park with Sue & Andy

Have a fantastic week. All the best.
